Athletics
Athletics is one of the most successful sports in St. Mac Dara’s. Athletics is broken into two seasons. The Cross Country season takes place from November to February and the Track and Field Season takes place from March to June. Training usually takes place on Tuesdays after school.
Please remember that Athletics is not just running. We also do a wide range of field events. So if you want to jump, throw or walk, please join the team. All are welcome. If you have any questions about Athletics then please speak to Ms Galligan.
Basketball
Camogie (GAA)

Soccer
St Mac Dara’s has had a long and successful association with the SFAI (School’s Football Association Ireland). We have had success in winning All-Ireland, Leinster and Dublin titles over the years, through both our boys and girls teams.
Our emphasis in the football department, is to create positive and lasting memories for our students sporting life. We encourage the students to be active, participate and ultimately cater for their football development.
Our football department consists of 6 football teams with over 90 students participating. Our teams include First Years, U15, U17, U19 in the boys section and U15, U19 in the girls section. All teams are entered into league and cup SAFI competitions. Recently we have also established a Futsal team for 1st year students.
Students will be coached by UEFA A and UEFA B licensed coaches with various experience in domestic football in our country. The teams are coached by Mr J Carey, Mr Canavan and Mr Ryan.
