History of St. Mac Dara's Community School

St. Mac Dara’s is a Community College that functions under the patronage of Dublin and Dun Laoghaire Education and Training Board. St Mac Dara’s C.C. is a multi-denominational mixed school. The College opened its doors for the first time in 1982 with 66 students and from then on has experienced tremendous growth, co–operation, achievement and change. It is named after the 6th century Irish monk who had associations with the local area prior to founding an island hermitage off the coast of County Galway. As our motto “Ar Aghaidh” proclaims we strive to look forward providing the best opportunities for our students which is evidenced by the reputation for excellence in all areas of second level education. Our college offers a wide range of subjects as well as a host of extra-curricular activities for our students providing the highest standard of Teaching, Learning and skills provided by a dedicated caring staff using innovative and modern techniques.
